3 Quarter Designs - Whimsical Notions collection

 Hello my crafty friends

Today I have put together a layout using the 3 Quarter Collection called Whimsical Notions.

This is a very pretty collection that lends itself to those special moments in life like a baby or an outing to a playground with the kids or grandkids.

The kit includes some cut outs, photo mats and some chipboard making it quite easy to put together a layout. This doesn't mean you cant add your own touch to it, like bling or flowers or as you will see in my layout I have done some extra stenciling to the background.

Mintay-Nightfall-Cards

This month I have a some cards for you for a change that I did with the new Mintay Nightfall collection, which as you know by now is just stunning.

I started with selecting my blank cards and I thought I would use the new Mintay Fancy Cards.

Its always nice to try something new.

Today I have 3 cards for you.

Card 1

I started by using a diecut I had made for the base of the card.

I also inked some cabochons for decorations later.

The back edge of the card is an offcut of the original diecut. 

I used this to accentuate the edge of the card

The I thought about using the Mintay lasercuts heart but never did on card one as it was to much fussiness.

In the end I decided on a simple diecut oval (Uniquely creative Die) and a diecut "Happy Birthday"

"Happy Birthday" was colored Gold same as the added cabochons.

In the end it was quite simple but I have to admit I struggled a little with it.

Card 2 

Again I have used Mintay Fancy Card blank, I glue a piece of the nightfall collection paper on the decorative side and knife cut the pattern into the nightfall paper.

The Rose in the center came from my stash, I have been waiting a long time to find the right place for that.

Then along with a line of bling through the center of the front and the other half being very plain I thought it would make a nice "thoughtful" type of card. Which is why I added the colored sentiment "Thinking of you" 

Nice and elegantly simple don't you think.

Card 3

Well by the time I got to card 3 I had decided to use up the scrap pieces from the first 2 cards.

So strips of Mintays nightfall and of cardstock were left from the die cutting.

The strips of cardstock were put down with foam mount tape. and again the edge trimmed to the pattern that is already on the Mintay fancy card blanks.

Then I added the Mintay lasercut heart and sentiment,

 both colored with oxides, to complete the card.

 I hope my cards inspires you to have a play with these very pretty papers and great lasercuts from the Mintay Nightfall collection.

3 Quarter Designs - Whimsical Notions Collection

                                                            Hi my crafty friends 

I'm back with a layout made with the very pretty 3 Quarter Designs Whimsical Notions collection.

All I have added to this one is a few flowers, a little bit of Bling and a sheet of 12 x 12 cardstock.

Some extra stenciling work done in the background.

I mounted some of the flowers and title ephemera.

Added my little bit of bling and some chipboard.

 The birds are chipboard that is included in the Whimsical Notions collection.

I used 1/3 Whimsical Notions paper and 2/3 cardstock and you will notice that I have punched the Whimsical paper on the edge where it is attached to the cardstock.

All finished and I really love it. I hope it inspires you to have a go with this very pretty collections from 3 Quarter Designs

Mintay - Nightfall Collection

Hello my crafty friends

I do hope you have been able to be crafty during June. 

This month I have a layout for you that I did with the new Mintay Nightfall collection, which by the way is just stunning.

This collection is available online or instore at Craft On the Run

I started with selecting the papers I would use with a slight idea in mind.

Then it was about cutting and placing what I wanted were. 

There were a few different variations until I settled on the one above.

Ok now its time to get the variation I liked stuck down. 

Some as you can see I used foam tape to elevate slightly.

Then came the photo for me. 

This pose from my 2 girls was just perfect.

Now my friends Mintay are making there own lasercuts. This being the doily in the pictures.

They are very sturdy and easy to use.

 I cut the doily in half for this layout, the other half I can use later. 

Mintay are also doing the words in there lasercuts which I have used on this layout.

They are big and take color well. 

The picture below shows original coloring and the ones above have been lightly colored using oxides.

 I have also added a little bling in the form of some diamante's and sequins.

And here my friends is the finished product.

 I must say it is lovely and easy to work with such a beautiful collection.
